Meet Presidential Ambassador Kayla Greene

Kayla Greene decided on the perfect major when she enrolled at Virginia Peninsula Community College and she was seeking leadership opportunities. The College's Presidential Ambassador program was ideal for the business administration major. Greene is among four students serving as Presidential Ambassadors for 2023-2024.

Participants in the Presidential Ambassadors program commit to 10 months of assisting the College. They volunteer at events and in various roles on campus as part of service. Each receives a $1,000 incentive and mentoring by VPCC leaders, Program Coordinator Michelle Manfred explained.

A graduate of Oklahoma's Altus High School, Greene sheds light on her experiences at the College and shares a little about herself.

My mom inspires me to grow and achieve bigger and better things every day through my education.

I am involved with TRiO and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

How does engaging in student clubs and organizations impact you?
These clubs (and organizations) have taught me how to take on responsibility and to think about my future.

Are there any faculty or staff members you want to mention for their contribution to your experiences at the College?
I would like to thank Michelle Manfred for allowing me this opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful program that helps students. I would also like to mention TRiO Advisor Natasha Woods for being very reliable and dependable when it comes to helping her students.

Manfred lauded Greene for her dedication to the program and is proud of her efforts.

“Kayla is a second-year Presidential Ambassador. She has participated in so many activities during her first year to include giving tours and making radio commercials. Kayla demonstrates confidence in everything she does,” she stated.
